The Knicks without Walsh

Donnie Walsh has stepped down as Knicks president of basketball operations. This news was a surprise for all the staff including Carmelo Anthony whom stated “I was up in Westchester [Knicks facility] and someone pulled me aside and told me. It caught a lot of people by surprise, because no one knew what was going on." (Courtesy of yahoo sports)
Donnie Walsh officially resigned for personal reasons. He was responsible for clearing the salary cap and signing Anthony and Amare Stoudemire. By doing so, he made the NY Knicks a playoff contender this year. (First playoff appearance since 2004)
James Dolan, Executive Chairman of Madison Square Garden, should look for an imminent replacement to keep the excitement around the team and so that players like Chris Paul or Dwight Howard are interested in signing as free agents to a team with good players as well as good staff members.  Do you think players focus more on other team players? the management stability? or both like I do?
